I photograph deep-sky objects from a suburban back garden under Bortle 6 skies. That constraint shapes everything on this site: narrowband filters instead of dark-site broadband, long integration across many nights instead of one heroic session, and a lot of patience with the weather.

Every capture here is published with the data behind it — the scope, the camera, the filters, the sub length, the total integration, the night it was shot and the sky it was shot under. If an image took eighteen hours across six nights, that is on the page. The write-ups go further and cover the parts that were genuinely difficult rather than the parts that photograph well.

The processing chain is deliberately free and open source — Siril, GraXpert and GIMP — so that everything described here can be reproduced by anyone with the same data and no software budget.
