The next twelve months of things worth planning a night around — and, just as usefully, the ones not worth losing sleep over.

This is a short, hand-kept list rather than an exhaustive ephemeris. Anything a planetarium app already tells you — moon phases, rise and set times, solstices — is left to the app. What is here is the editorial part: whether the shower peaks under a bright moon, whether totality is actually visible from these latitudes, and whether a target is worth the setup time. For everything else, Stellarium Web is a better tool than anything this site would build.

Every time below is converted to your device’s timezone. The underlying instants are stored in UTC, which is why the conversion happens in your browser rather than on the server — the server has no idea where you are reading from, and a clock time that is wrong for most readers is worse than no clock time at all.
